The Ole Miss Rebels football program represents the University of Mississippi, located in the small town of Oxford. The Rebels compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and are members of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Since 2020, the team has been led by head coach Lane Kiffin. Founded in 1893 as Mississippi’s first college football team, Ole Miss has a proud tradition that includes six SEC titles (1947, 1954, 1955, 1960, 1962, and 1963) and three national championships as recognized by various selectors (1959, 1960, and 1962). The program reached a milestone 600th win on September 27, 2008, with a dramatic 31–30 victory over the Florida Gators, and continues to be a competitive force in the SEC with a strong fan base and deep-rooted rivalries, including the storied Egg Bowl against Mississippi State.
