About Jimmie Ward

James Ward (born July 18, 1991) is an American professional football safety for the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Northern Illinois, and was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the first round of the 2014 NFL draft.

On March 18, 2023, Ward signed a two-year contract with the Houston Texans. He was named a team captain ahead of the 2023 season. On August 19, 2024, Ward signed a one-year contract extension with the Texans.
