About Derik Osede

Derik Osede Prieto (born 21 February 1993), known simply as Derik, is a Spanish footballer who plays as a central defender for Deportivo de La Coruña.
Born in Madrid to a Nigerian father and a Spanish mother, Derik started playing organized football at the age of eight, joining local DAV Santa Ana's youth ranks. He finished his formation with Real Madrid, going on to make his debuts as a senior with the C-team and helping them return to Segunda División B in 2012.
Derik appeared with the Spain under-19 team at the 2012 UEFA European Championship, helping to a final win in Estonia. In June 2015, he stated he wished to switch international allegiance to Nigeria.
