About Athanasios Karagounis

Thanasis Karagounis (Greek: Θανάσης Καραγκούνης; born 25 September 1991) is a Greek professional footballer who plays as a winger or an attacking midfielder for Super League 2 club Apollon Smyrnis.

His brother Vasilios Karagounis is also a footballer, who is currently playing for Iraklis F.C.. Although he shares the same surname as Giorgos Karagounis, the former captain of the Greek national football team, it was revealed at a joint interview of both players that they are not related.
