About Anthony Gerrard

Anthony Gerrard (born 6 February 1986) is a professional footballer who last played as a centre back for Chesterfield. He qualifies for the Republic of Ireland at international level and has been capped at under-18 level. . He is a cousin of former England national team captain Steven Gerrard.
Born in Huyton, Merseyside, Gerrard joined the Everton Academy at age eight and appeared as captain for the youth academy at one point. His performance in the academy led Gerrard signed his first professional contract in May 2004
